Please pray for MIA missionaries Lloyd and Elaine Cooke and all others who suffered significant loss during Hurricane Dean. Lloyd and Elaine’s home in Mandeville, Jamaica lost its roof, rafters and ceiling during the storm.

Here are Ministries In Action’s prayer needs for this week.

Please pray for those who were affected by Hurricane Dean. Hurricane Dean was a large and extremely powerful storm, with sustained winds reaching 165 mph. Ministries in Action has missionaries in a few of the places affected by Dean. According to MIA president Walford Thompson, the Island of St. Vincent sustained some minor damage. MIA field coordinator Chuck Mobley makes his home in the Cayman Islands and reported strong winds, but little flooding. MIA missionary Lloyd Cooke in Jamaica reported quite a bit of damage including losing the roof of his own home. Please pray that recovery effort will go well and that Ministries In Action as an organization will respond in the appropriate way.

Here are Ministries In Action’s prayer needs for this week.

Please pray for MIA missionaries LLoyd and Elaine Cooke in Jamaica. They recently returned from a short vacation following Lloyd’s health scare. They have also requested prayer for Jamaica’s up coming elections (August 27th). There is often quite a bit of violence associated with national elections in Jamaica. The Cooke’s had to navigate around motorcades of opposing political groups as they drove through Jamaica last week. They report that the demonstrations have been peaceful and good natured so far. Pray for peaceful and fair elections in Jamaica.

Here are Ministries In Action’s prayer needs for this week.

Please pray for Hyacinth Urquhart, Director of Project Ebenezer, as she accompanies a group of MBA students from the University of Texas to the Dominican Republic. These students have selected our hospital project to use as a subject in a project they are doing to complete their program of study. Pray that their lives will be impacted as a result of spending time with Hyacinth and Silvia and Samuel Martinez. Pray also that the study they perform will yield some beneficial information for the continuation of this project.
