Prayer Requests for January 29 – February 4, 2008

January 31, 2008

Please continue to pray for Walford Thompson’s son Andrew, who was in a serious motorcycle accident earlier this month. He has been discharged from the hospital, but still has a great deal of recovery and rehabilitation ahead of him. Praise God for His healing in this situation.

Pray for Walford Thompson as he ministers at an evangelistic gathering in St. Vincent this week. Walford will be preaching and MIA associates Ian and Margaret Crawshaw will be ministering in song. Pray that many will come to faith in Jesus during this event.

Bresile St. Germain is the keynote speaker at a church seminar in Fort Lauderdale, FL this week. Pray that he will be overflowing with Christ as he ministers to these pastors and church leaders. Bresile also reports that at least 10 people accepted Jesus as their Savior during his ministry events in South Florida in the last couple of weeks. Praise God!

Please pray for Onesimo and Marilda de Arruda in Brazil. The decline of the US Dollar in relation to the Brazilian Real has resulted in a lot of financial pressure on them and their ministry. They are also in need of a 4WD vehicle, as their current car is unsuitable for traveling the roads to some of the Indian villages they minister in.

Please pray for Gordon Woolard and Marc Mailloux as they head to French Guiana to explore the possibility of organizing an IONA program there. Pray they would have wisdom as they seek to make the best use of the resources and gifts God has given them.

Prayer Requests for January 15-21, 2008

January 16, 2008

Please continue to pray for Andrew Thompson, Walford Thompson’s son, as he recovers from a serious motorcycle accident. There has been significant improvement since last week, Praise God! Currently Andrew is wearing a brace – neck to hip, because of a cracked lumbar vertebra and his biggest challenge right now is his memory. Pray for his ongoing recovery and for the Thompson family as they go through this difficult time.

Please pray for Marc and Aline Mailloux, who are currently in St. Martin teaching the next installment of apologetics classes there. Marc wrote earlier this week that he was experiencing flu-like symptoms. Please pray that God would grant him good health and that the students there would derive maximum benefit from his visit.

Please pray for Bresile St. Germain as he leads a gathering of Haitian pastors this Saturday in Delray Beach, FL. Pray that this event would be both encouraging and useful for these pastors, and that the end result would be more souls entering into a relationship with Christ.

This week a specialist from Water Missions will be assisting Dr. Silvia Martinez’ staff in Dominican Republic with the installation of two chlorinators in two bateyes (communities of very poor Haitian migrants). Pray that the installation will be successful and without complication and that God’s name would be glorified as a result.

Please pray for Lloyd Cooke as he works with the Evangelism Committee of the Ministers Fraternal in Jamaica to prepare for the upcoming evangelistic festival featuring Luis Palau in April. There is a lot of training to be done in the nest few weeks leading up to the event. Please also pray for Lloyd as he begins teaching a Missions course at Jamaica Bible College this semester.
